FAQ

How is Survive 'N' Thrive different this year?

We've taken the very best of Survive 'N' Thrive and reimagined it with a fresh format to create UNPLUGGED. Every year our attendees request more breakout sessions so we're doing it!  You'll hear from 12 dynamic speakers on topics relevant to single moms. We're still having an amazing lunch and your children will be just as thrilled as in previous years.  If you've attended Survive 'N' Thrive before, you'll love the new look.  If this is your first year, you're in for a big, big treat.

I'm not a single mom but I'm interested in coming with a friend. Is that okay?

Yes! We have many women who attend in support of a friend or family member. What a great way to show your support for single moms. You will find many breakout sessions address topics that are relevant to all women, not just single moms. Registration is required for every woman attending.

My situation is unique. Will this apply to me?

There are many kinds of single moms, each with a special story.  We welcome any woman raising children alone, if even for a short time.  Our breakout session topics are varied for women of all walks of life.  You will meet other moms dealing with the same issues as you are facing.  A list of session topics will be posted soon.

Who will be attending?

The Survive 'N' Thrive Unplugged event is designed for women raising children alone. Attendees range from divorced, never married, widowed, separated from spouse, grandmothers raising grandchildren, etc. Regardless of how long you’ve been a single mother or the age of your children, this conference is for you!

What can I expect at the event?

You will be encouraged and energized to continue in your journey! Saturday will kick off with breakfast and a powerful line-up of 12 speakers delivering short talks with a practical takeaway. We'll also have a panel discussion featuring people who have been raised by single moms.  Don't miss the fabulous lunch, fun activities and inspiring worship led by Charlie Hall.

What's the age limit for childcare and what else do I need to know?

Childcare is provided for children ages birth through 11 years old until the rooms are full. Registration is required by the deadline. Your children will be served breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Children are not allowed in the auditorium in order to allow moms to have a quiet break.

What will my children do in the childcare program?

Your children will be having fun! There are activities planned for the entire day. They will enjoy Bible stories, crafts, games and organized play. You can relax knowing your children are cared for by trained childcare workers who are excited about loving on your kids.

Are refunds available?

Arise Ministries does not offer refunds for childcare or for event admission.

Can I be a speaker at the conference?

It is our desire to assemble a team of speakers to inspire, educate and encourage single mothers. This year's speakers have been chosen and no other applications are being accepted.  If you are interested in future events, check back in January 2018 for instructions on submitting an application.

I live out of town. Is the travel worth a one-day event?

Yes! In addition to the action-packed Saturday schedule, we are hosting a special hospitality reception for our out-of-town guests on Friday evening. Enjoy a casual get together at Hilton Garden Inn and relax with other out-of-town moms. It's a perfect time to UNWIND before UNPLUGGED. Call our office for details if you are spending the night in a local hotel Friday evening. 405-812-5137.
