Parents of the 21st century face vastly different challenges than parents experienced in the 80s and 90s. Our children now grow up with technology infused into their daily lives, and along with that unique challenges. In this session, we’ll discuss social media, dangerous apps, digital citizenship, and the problems plaguing children online.

*This event is FREE, but space is limited. Registration is required.

Why do we need to protect our kids?

  • 48% of children have been exposed to pornographic material online.
  • One in five U.S. teenagers who regularly log on to the Internet says they have received an unwanted sexual solicitation.
  • 75% of children are willing to share personal information online about themselves and their family in exchange for goods and services.
  • 43% of children aged eight to thirteen are speaking to strangers online.
  • Only 33% of households with Internet access are actively protecting their children with filtering or blocking software.
